Happy Earth Day!
April 22nd is Earth Day and many people are wondering what they can do to better protect the Earth.  When it comes to technology, there are many simple things that can be done to protect the planet.  First off, think before you print.  Many people print unnecessary documents and end up wasting paper.  As long as you have a back up system (if you don’t, you need to call us!) and you properly file the document away electronically, there is no need to print it out.  Environmentalists also recommend just shutting off your monitor rather than using the screen saver.  They have found that screen saver and the sleep mode takes up more energy than just shutting off the monitor when it is not in use.  What about all those computers and monitors that are sitting around and are ready to be tossed out? eCycle it! You can take your old computer, DVD player, or any other electronics to an Electronics Recycling Center. Recycling your electronics helps avoid land, air, and water pollution by capturing and reusing hazardous substance. Most computer and cell phone companies usually allow you to recycle electronics at their locations as well.  For a list of participating places, check out: http://www.epa.gov/epawaste/conserve/materials/ecycling/donate.htm#local.  Do you have any tips you would like to share?
